Viscount’s history

Viscount is a village in central Saskatchewan, set within the Rural Municipality of Viscount No. 341 along Highway 16, the Yellowhead Highway. It lies east of Colonsay and west of Lanigan.

The community's story begins in 1908. That year a post office opened in the Dominion Land Survey section where the village now stands, and on December 17, 1908, Viscount was incorporated as a village.
